Organization is the key if you want to find specific images faster. Besides storing your pictures in different folders, according to their categories, you can associate certain information with your files, which should give you more search parameters. This is the idea behind PhotoLibrary. It lets you add various labels to a single picture, from date or location to storage device or ID. The program will sort the photos, according to your labels, in its own database, making it easier and faster to locate a specific item.

You will not encounter any problems when installing PhotoLibrary. The procedure is very straightforward and you will be able to run the program in a few moments. It works on all modern Windows platforms, but if you want to use it on Windows Vista or Windows 7, you will have to turn off the User Account Control.

You can label pictures, make settings and perform other actions on separate windows, within the program's interface. PhotoLibrary lets you define your own categories and subjects, countries and regions, as well as storage devices and device IDs. They are created in separate tree structures, on a tabbed window.

Photos are labeled one by one, on the same window. After creating a new entry and selecting a picture, you can use different drop menus to select locations, categories and so on, which you can also define. A picture's characteristics may include the location where you took the photo, its subjects, a storage device, IDs for the storage device and the photo itself and more. You can use a search function to find a picture by its name, photo ID, comments or caption.

Another search function allows you to select subjects, locations or IDs at the same time and specify other criteria to narrow down the search radius. Alternatively, you can bring up an explorer-style window, where you can browse your categories and subcategories.

Pros

You can add numerous labels to your pictures and find them much faster. The software lets you define your own categories and assign different types of IDs. It includes many tools and they are not difficult to use.

Cons

You can not work with multiple pictures at the same time. Besides that, the window within a window approach is a bit uncomfortable. Thanks to its flexibility, PhotoLibrary lets you associate any information with your pictures, so you can find them much faster.
